i am answering the call for a week of resiliency by informing (or reminding) forest defenders & cop haters everywhere that the united states presently holds captive hundreds of political prisoners & prisoners of war.
Black Panthers, Palestine solidarity activists, indigenous revolutionaries, anarchists, “nonviolent” direct action participants, Black Liberation Army veterans, survivors of domestic abuse, colombian revolutionary militants, earth & animal liberationists, Black Lives Matter activists & other partisans of 21st-century anti-police uprisings: people from all these groups are currently locked up for their politics. those still jailed for opposing cop city are among their newest comrades.
colonial, fascist repression backfires when it brings together people who may not have previously known they were fighting on the same side. they open pathways to expanded networks of care & insurrectionary inspiration.
you can learn more about contemporary u.s.-held political prisoners & prisoners of war at these links:

“It’s critical to teach the people out there how important it is to destroy the function of the prison within the society. That, and to show them in concrete terms that the war is on – right now!”
