On Juneteenth, friends of the forest in so-called Minneapolis hopped the fence around the construction site of THE SINKHOLE, a major happening in local geology, to show their solidarity with the Defend the Atlanta Forest movement and with the unhoused community in their own city. They lovingly painted Tortuguita’s name throughout the site. They also dropped the banner: FROM THE SINKHOLE TO THE FOREST, STOP THE SWEEPS, STOP COP CITY.
