From ABC News 4 Charleston: “The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) arrested a person suspected of setting fire to a construction company’s trucks in Summerville Saturday morning.
____________, __, of Charleston is charged with arson in the second degree. Their bond was set at $25,000, according to the DCSO.
According to the DCSO, emergency personnel responded to a fire at the Thomas Concrete on Jedburg Road in Summerville just before 1 a.m. Two trucks were on fire and at least one of the trucks’ fuel cap was not in place.
A person later identified as _____ was seen emerging from the woods near the incident location, quickly walk to their vehicle, and leave the area, according to the DCSO. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on _____, who displayed nervousness and had specks of red paint in the cracks of his fingernails.
Deputies say they later discovered multiple trucks at the property had messages written in red spray paint. The messages appeared to reference the Weelaunee Forest in Atlanta, GA.
One of the messages included was, “You build it, We burn it”.
According to the DCSO, deputies learned from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) that a concrete company in Atlanta and another Thomas Concrete location in Raleigh also had trucks burned.
Video surveillance captured a suspect carrying a white canister who enters the property from the wood line at 12:24 a.m. they are seen manipulating fuel caps on multiple trucks before setting fire to the two trucks and leaving the property from the same wood line, according to the DCSO.
After deputies investigated the incident further with the ATF and the Charleston Police Department (CPD), ______ was arrested in connection with the fire.”
