A CALL FOR RETALIATION

Posted on January 18, 2023 by scenes

The worst has come to pass.
An unnamed forest defender has been shot and killed in Weelaunee.
Consider this a call for reciprocal violence to be done to the police and their allies. On Friday, January 20th, wherever you are, you are invited to participate in a night of rage in order to honor the memory of our fallen comrade.

Love and rage

Logging Trucks Destroyed in Ozarks

Posted on January 15, 2023 by scenes

Happy New Year to the crew of the 4 tree-killing machines in Ozark. For days the noise was the only goddamn thing you could hear in the forest. We emerged from our nests and holes and severed the infernal racket with tooth and claw. We found all machines unlocked with keys still in their ignitions!

We chewed through wires and cables, filled fuel tanks with sand and soil, drained the machines dry, and restored the forest to perfect winter silence. It was a beautiful night, just right for stargazing (and sabotage :))

In solidarity with the Atlanta Forest (STOP COP CITY!!!) and forests under siege everywhere. You woke us up and there’s more to come!

Brasfield & Gorrie Offices Attacked by Forest Defenders in South Florida

Posted on January 11, 2023 - January 11, 2023 by scenes

Under the light of the full moon on Thursday Jan. 5, 2023, we anarchists in so-called South Florida (colonized Tequesta, Seminole, and Miccosukee land – struck the contractors Brasfield and Gorrie at their office inside Hotel Colonnade and at their construction site next to the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. We attacked them with revenge in our hearts for the Forest Defenders in Atlanta arrested and caged as “domestic terrorists.” In these past weeks, this upcoming weekend of action, and going forward, we will demonstrate that we truly have the numbers. From Portland to Miami to Atlanta, the forest defenders are everywhere!
We permanently closed down a construction site. While we love to see that the addition to the children’s hospital is all but completed, B&G shall not profit from this contract. We sabotaged their vehicles, we painted their trailer, we defaced their logo with the anarchist A, and we locked the gate behind us with a bike lock. The cowards, in their defeat have since listed the site as “permanently closed” on Google maps. See for yourself: Brasfield & Gorrie NCH Trailer Offices SW 30th St., Miami FL
From there we took to the canopy, climbing above the police and their watching eyes. The downtown of so-called Coral Gables, around the corner from their police station, ha! They think that they’re in control.
We dumped the blood of industry and capitalism down the front facade of the hotel: black paint to represent oil, polluting their sanctuary for once. We dropped a banner for passing, curious pedestrians yearning for a new world. As for the office building, we climbed ever higher into the canopy to remind them that we have the numbers to stop cop city and we intend to win.
To Brasfield and Gorrie, we have one question: is it worth it? This one contract in Atlanta, is it worth it? The Police and FBI care not for your safety; they will not be able to find us but we also know that they will not even try. Furthermore, if peaceful tree sitters are charged with terrorism why should we not retaliate with direct action? We shall be called terrorists either way. As long as you keep this contract, you are at the top of our list and we are everywhere.
We attacked because we know that Cop City is not just a single training facility. The oligarchs are plotting; they saw the uprising of 2020, they believe in the climate catastrophe that they created, they know that their greed is killing us all and that the people will soon rise up!
Cop city is the answer for these megalomaniacs: obedience or death. Cop city is how white supremacy withstands the rage of BIPOC communities. Cop city is how corporations can continue to steal from the land and the peoples who have tended it for time immemorial. And when cop city is defeated, the death-cult of capitalism will fall soon after. We keep us safe.
Abolish the police! Abolish their jails and prisons! Abolish capitalism! Anarchy! Autonomy! Liberation!

call for a weekend of solidarity with the Atlanta Forest to #StopCopCity. January 13-16th.

We can all take action for our future.

Bank of America set on fire in Portland

Posted on January 1, 2023 by scenes

Last night I broke into a Bank of America in Portland, Oregon and started a large fire. According to news reports, the fire grew quickly and took firefighters more than an hour to extinguish.

I attack for revenge against capital for the hell it creates, to break the illusion of police control that usually protects it, and just because I can.

Bank of America funds the Atlanta Police Foundation and a thousand other projects of control. Earlier that day, the six friends in Atlanta charged with “domestic terrorism” were released from jail. May this fire bring them some warmth in winter.

Long live anarchy!

Banner Drop in Asheville

Posted on December 27, 2022 by scenes
On the morning of December 27th, two banners were dropped over interstate 40 in so called Asheville, North Carolina to show unwavering support and solidarity with 6 comrades in Atlanta Georgia that were arrested and charged, most notably, with domestic terrorism while defending Weelaunee forest from capital development and state violence. We stand militantly against capital interest to further the rapid gentrification of South Atlanta and development of the entertainment industry. We stand militantly against the states interest in providing tactical training to its agents (as well as international agencies) to repress growing opposition movements that will be forthcoming as a by product of the disintegration of capitalism and state legitimacy. We hope this small act of solidarity kindles a fire and rage in others to stare into the eyes authoritarians, fascists, and oligarchs alike, and to negate them by any means necessary.

Cop city will never be built.

Trees Cut By Goon Squad

Posted on December 23, 2022 by scenes

On December 22, 2022, around lunch time, we became aware of a large operation taking place in Weelaunee Peoples’ Park (Intrenchment Creek Park). Many trees were being felled and more of the PATH (paved bicycle route) was being torn up and replaced with gravel and stones. This is a continuation of a process that has been attempted several times since May, but frequently repelled by activists, community members, or “forest defenders” (as the media calls us). In the past, it has sometimes been enough to use words. Other times, lawyers have intervened. At times, we have had to use stones. In any case, the commitment to defending access to public space and the integrity of the forest has been invariant, whatever the methods of defense.

It is not immediately clear who was felling the trees. Whoever they were, they arrived from the gate of the RC field, and the drove straight across it. Trees were cut near the “gas cut” clearing. The bike path was torn up close to the 12 mile marker. Several trees were spray painted with a purple “O” marking.

Protecting the company, who ostensibly were doing illegal work on behalf of Ryan Milsap (real estate mogul, hedge funder, owner of many companies called Blackhall, and partial owner of Shadowbox Studios), was a single man in a Lithonia Police Department jacket. He did not possess other identifiers that would typically be kept by a cop, such as a badge. He attempted to intimidate journalists and community members, who were intransigent. For assistance, he called someone over who was wearing a “Peace Officer” jacket, and also did not possess a badge or other identifying markers. Neither of them had the tense body language, overconfidence, poor affect, or shifty-eyed incompetence of a normal law enforcement official. It is not immediately clear if these men were impersonating police officers at Ryan Milsaps orders, or if they are real cops badly impersonating their co-workers.

In any case, once a handful of people arrived, the work crew fled in a hurry. They seemed determined to not be seen.

B&H Towing and Wrecker towed away the burned remains of Milsap’s trailer bed. It does not seem they were involved in any other capacity.

There are leads, but it is not immediately clear what company was illegally cutting down trees.
It is clear they were working for Milsap. It is not clear if his orders were coming from his Social Circle mansion, or his ugly house in Tuxedo Park.

We will find out soon enough.

MANHATTAN: Atlas VP’s Apartment Building attacked in solidarity with the ATL 6

Posted on December 21, 2022 by scenes

Atlas VP’s Manhattan apartment building (330 3rd Ave) attacked in solidarity with arrested Weelaunee forest defenders.

6 comrades were arrested without bail on bullshit inflated charges. they were initially denied running water and essential medications.

We stand in solidarity with their brave and kind defense of the trees of the Weelaunee forest. The state does not love and doesn’t understand nor allow it- not for the earth, not for each other, not at all. But we as people do. And we speak our love for our suffering friends and the suffering land through this attack, in the language of our shared struggle, and hope its echoes join the reverberations of all the love and courage born of this movement.

Rami boundouki is the VP of AtlaVista a part of Atlas Technical Consultants, one of the contractors trying to build cop city- what would be the largest cop training facility run by the private Atlanta pig foundation, where pigs across the globe seeking to repress and imprison people would come to train.

We reject this world order of prisons and pigs and dead forests, we reject their false peace, we reject the state in its entirety!

As rami’s redecorated apartment building now agrees, DROP COP CITY!

COP CITY WILL NEVR BE BUILT!
FREE THE ATL 6!

Solidarity With Struggle In Atlanta And Comrades Denied Bail For Their Nonviolent Direct Action Of Tree Sitting

If The State Responds To Nonviolent Protest With Violence, What Motivation Do We Have To Remain Peaceful? Over The Past Ten Years And Especially Since The Uprising In Summer ‘20 Protestors Have Been Met With Increasingly Militarized Police Repression. The Explicit Purpose Of Cop City Includes Training For Suppression Of Mass Protests By Physical Violence And Chemical Warfare. Instead Of Funding A Live-Able Social Safety Net, Atlanta Politicians Voted Against Public Interest To Create A Cop Playground. Atlas Technical Consultants Is One Of The Private Companies Propped Up By This Corrupt Scheme.

Last Night We Visited An Atlas Office In Novi Michigan. We Smashed Their Front Windows And Poured Paint At Their Doorstep. Unfortunately The Double Reinforced Panes Were Chalenging To Get Through—We Heard Someone Else Successfully Shattered Them Some Months Ago—But Damage Was Done Despite This.

No Cop City In Atlanta, No Cop Cities Anywhere! Violent Dranged Bastards From All Over The Country Would Travel To Atlanta For Training So We Must Travel To Defend Against Their Active Threats. This Fight Affects All Of Us, Coast To Coast And Around The World. From Grayling To Atlanta, Love And Rage.

Solidarity With 5 Arrested Forest Defenders Charged With Domestic Terrorism In Atlanta

Posted on December 18, 2022 by scenes

5 people have been arrested and charged with Domestic Terrorism for
their alleged connection to Defend The Atlanta Forest movement in USA.
These arrests were notoriously brutal, included the deployment of
chemical weapons repeatedly, and placed unfounded charges against them
in an effort to torture, terrorize, and brutalize.

We want every prison to burn, every prisoner to be free, and the
violence of the state to be destroyed. We must stand in unflinching
solidarity with all those arrested, and be committed to absolute
resistance to any current or future state investigation, no matter what
it requires of us. Anything less is unconscionable.

San Francisco Wells Fargo Attacked In Solidarity With Atlanta Forest Defenders

Defend the Atlanta Forest classified as a “Domestic Violent Extremist” group by Department of Homeland Security

Posted on December 16, 2022 by scenes

Defend the Atlanta Forest is not an extremist group, and not a group at all.
It is a protest movement with broad popular support from all over the world.
5 people are currently facing Domestic Terrorism charges.
We need to support them and anyone else targeted by state repression in the future.

Windows Smashed at a Noise Demo Outside of DeKalb County Jail

Posted on December 15, 2022 by scenes

On Tuesday December 13th there was a raid in the forest where five were arrested after police brutalized them with tear gas and pepper balls.

Forest defenders swiftly called for a noise demonstration at the DeKalb County Jail in solidarity with the five people arrested during the raid. By 8pm protesters began to amass near the facility.

Sheriffs on foot lined the perimeter of the jail as a choir of twenty five voices, a dozen drums, 2 guitars, a cello, and various handheld noisemakers approached. Jail administrators peered down from office windows as protesters tossed smoked bombs in the road and chanted “1312, we are all here for you!” and “no forest, no peace”.

With our flashing lights, lasers, and binoculars we gazed up, scouring the prison walls for evidence of folks inside hearing our call. We were quickly greeted by prisoners waving, frantically scrubbing the dust from their windows, and straining to peer down at the raucous below. We saw a few dozen of them throughout the demonstration.

We heard sounds of the prisoners banging back to us from inside their cells. Fifteen minutes in, one rowdy prisoner was spotted lighting a fire outside their cell window, which appeared to have been smashed out for the occasion.

Peering through binoculars, one noise-maker noticed an arm waving a sheet out of a third story window that also was smashed. After quieting the band, protestors and the two unknown prisoners shouted back and forth. “I love y’all” yelled the prisoners, “We love you too”! And all in agreement, “fuck the police!” “1,2,3,” the prisoner led the forest defenders in a chant — “fuck! the police!”

“There’s nothing that evokes such a feeling of solidarity— all the people at the windows —even though we are strangers to one another, we felt united in our determination against crude imbalance of power and systematic injustice” – a forest defender

This is not the first time a noise demonstration at DeKalb County Jail got rowdy. We and those locked inside who smashed their windows are part of a multiyear tradition at DeKalb County Jail. In 2019 at one noise demo protesters went inside the jail, fought the police and at another soon after prisoners smashed over a dozen windows throwing down mold to the protesters revealing the horrific conditions they are trapped in.

The fight to Stop Cop City is a struggle not just for a world without a police training facility in the Weelaunee Forest but also for a world without prisons.

with a warm welcome from the forest foe’s office clerk, forest fairies festively frolicked, fantastically fomenting a full-fledged fuss about b&g’s fraternizing with the atlanta police foundation and their facilitation of the stop cop city project.

following the flamboyant and flowery feat, the friendly fairies fluttered fro finding fellow columbus familiars, a frisky and fruitful affair.

FLOCK CAMERA DESTROYED IN WELAUNEE IN SOLIDARITY WITH CAMP GREYLING RESISTANCE

Posted on November 30, 2022 - December 1, 2022 by scenes

A few nights back, the last remaining Flock camera near south Atlanta welaunee forest perimeter was destroyed in solidarity with Camp Greyling! While we fight the proposed construction of cop city, they fight the proposed expansion of a military training facility, & one of our common enemies, who are either investors, supporters, or both if cop city & camp greyling is Flock Security cameras. We oppose surveillance as a form of violence upon us, & though we have destroyed many, this is one of first written accounts; Flock has also helped incarcerate many of our dear movement friends & otherwise, so they must be stopped!

Concerning the Closure of APD’s Firing Range

Posted on November 23, 2022 by scenes

On the evening of Saturday, November 19, chainsaw-wielding militants took action to close down the Atlanta Police Department’s shooting range inside the Weelaunee Forest, where APD trains weekly to kill and maim the people of Atlanta. A few small trees were selectively felled in order to block the access road to the shooting range. One of the felled trees hit a power line which provides electricity to the shooting range, leading to a power surge which blew a transformer and disabled the cameras, which were then destroyed with fire and hammers. The power line only services the shooting range. No residential areas were impacted by the outage.

In the middle of the range is a yellow school bus. The windows are shattered from bullet holes, and spent munitions –flash grenades and tear gas – lie under the seats. Its purpose on the range is clear: the only ‘protection’ police offer is violence and death.

The decision to cut a living tree should never be taken lightly. The ongoing presence of the shooting range was an affront to the forest and all who live in or near it; the gunfire and explosions at all hours of day and night, the toxic lead ammunition poisoning the soil and leaching into the water, the way Black and brown people living nearby were forced to listen daily to the police training to murder them.

Weighed against these impacts and the Atlanta Police Foundation’s plan to destroy the entire forest, we understand the felling of these few trees as the forest defending itself. At a moment when the USA’s model of militarized policing is being actively exported around the world to facilitate the destruction of the Amazon and others of the last great forests and indigenous strongholds which stand between us and mass extinction, we know that if these trees could talk, they would say “fuck the police” and would happily volunteer to fall and crush them.

Since the closing of the shooting range, the Weelaunee forest has not been quiet – even the cold November woods are full of life and noise – but it has been more peaceful without the police filling it with the sounds of war. We hope that all the residents of the forest and the surrounding neighborhood can relax better in the relative silence, but we must be clear that we didn’t do this for their sake.

We took this action for the dead – for Rayshard Brooks and every person killed by the Atlanta Police, for every murdered revolutionary, for the Muskogee who were forced from this land, for every enslaved person who lived and died on the plantation here, for every prisoner killed by guards at the old prison farm and buried in unmarked graves in the forest. This forest is theirs and we will not allow the police to desecrate it with their presence.

We will not allow the police to bulldoze over the history of their own crimes.

The land remembers. We remember. Cop city will never be built.

Rail Blockade in Lenapehoking in Solidarity with Wet’suwet’en!

It was a very simple and easily replicable action using commonly found blockade materials that were near the tracks already.

We hope to inspire many more and frequent railway blockades as an effective action to disrupt colonial and ecocidal infrastructure all across Turtle Island and Globally.

Another Tow Truck Burned at Weelaunee People’s Park

Posted on November 15, 2022 by scenes

In the late afternoon hours of Tuesday, November 8 (Election Day), another tow truck entered the parking lot of the Weelaunee People’s Park with the intention of carrying away the charred remains of Ryan Millsap’s tow truck, which was burnt back in July. The latter truck has become a monument to the power of this movement, and had already been defended from extraction at least once before. So when this new truck came–its driver saying that he had already called the cops, and he’d be towing our truck as soon as they arrived–forest defenders were quick to respond. The police, on the other hand, were not. When it became clear to the driver that the cops were too lazy, overextended, and scared to come to his aid, he abandoned the vehicle with the keys inside. When DKPD did finally arrive on the scene, they were too scared to even enter the parking lot, let alone the forest. Forest defenders drove the truck to the RC field in an attempt to block the path where a bulldozer had entered last May. Then they set it ablaze, taking great care to ensure that the surrounding grass didn’t catch.

Meanwhile, those Americans that still believe in the ritual of voting were casting their ballots for the maintenance of one or the other version of the status quo. They think of this as freedom, as though the choice between 100 brands of cereal were the same as choosing how to live. We chose another route. We chose to defend a territory that has been claimed by the people, for the people–where the police do not dare to go because they have seen what happens to enemy vehicles. We elected a raging fire beneath a full moon!

Sincerely,
The Committee to Elect Stacey Abrams
