Last week, to commemorate the International Week of Solidarity with Anarchist Prisoners, under the cover of darkness a small incendiary device was placed on the wheel arc of a Vertiv truck located on the edge of a sleepy office park in Milwaukie OR. The delay was lit before we disappeared back into the forest

Vertiv Corporation develops critical support equipment and services for commercial IT systems—technology that is utilized by United States military in addition to state and federal law enforcement agencies, such as the FBI and ICE. Vertiv is part of the broad corporate infrastructure of state repression that condemns us all to a world of mass surveillance, borders, and militarized police

AGAINST COP CITY

This action was inspired in part by the continued militancy and creativity of the movement to stop the construction of Cop City in Atlanta GA. Cop City is a testing ground for other law enforcement agencies across the country to construct similar facilities—continuing a broader trend towards the militarization of policing and domestic counter-insurgency. For their part, Vertiv is a supplier to the Atlanta Police Department. Just in the year 2023 alone, the APD paid Vertiv $168,315 to utilize their technology.

Person charged and awaiting trial after shooting an electrical substation and spray-painting messages relating to the Dakota Access Pipeline – Ray, ND

A Canadian is facing federal charges after authorities alleged he shot a gun at an electricity substation in western North Dakota.

A person appeared Wednesday, July 12, in U.S. District Court in Bismarck on one count each of destruction of an energy facility, “possession of a firearm by an illegal alien” and “possession of ammunition by an illegal alien.” His trial is scheduled for September.

The charge stems from a May 13 incident at the Wheelock substation in Ray, North Dakota. Employees said they found multiple rifle bullet holes in the substation operated by Mountrail-Williams Electric Co-op and Basin Electric Power Co-op, according to a criminal complaint.

The word “DAPL” and other symbols were spray-painted on rocks outside the power station, according to court documents.

No one was injured in the shooting.

DAPL is an acronym for the Dakota Access Pipeline, a nearly 1,200-mile pipeline that carries oil from western North Dakota to Illinois. Construction of the pipeline attracted protesters in 2016.

“Law enforcement also determined that approximately 15 bullets penetrated and damaged substation transformers and numerous electrical apparatuses,” the complaint said.

The bullets caused $100,000 in damage and resulted in 243 customers losing power, the complaint said.

He initially was charged with felony criminal mischief in Williams County District Court, but the charge was dropped Tuesday so federal prosecutors could pursue their case.

He remains in custody at the Williams County Correctional Center.

An invitation and reportback from a productive fourth of july party

On the fourth of july, 20 machines across 6 sites of the construction of the mountain valley pipeline were sabotaged, using a variety of means to render them inoperable. Machines are often left unguarded, and when they’re not, the security are just prats. It was easy and fun. We gave a big cheer when these machines were seen being hauled off the mountains back to the industrial hellscapes they come from.

I have loved these mountains my whole life, and truly am a part of the forests. Mountain Valley Pipeline has been fought ferociously by locals every step of the last 5 years, but we need help. People have locked themselves to equipment and had their bodies maimed by police. People have precariously lived in treetops for years (literally, 2 and a half years at yellow finch). But MVP, supported by Joe Manchin and the full power of the US government does not care about the trees, the deer, the woodducks, the candy darters, or any one of us. Lockdowns and treesits are not enough anymore. I am inviting the full power and creativity of the movement to do whatever it takes to stop these fuckers from killing us all. Doom to the pipeline!

Oakland CA, a brick was thrown into the front window of UPS Store in solidarity with #StopCopCity and defense of Weelaunee forest

On Saturday morning, July 8th, a brick was thrown at the front window of the UPS Store on Telegraph avenue in solidarity with the campaign to Stop Cop City and defend the Weelaunee forest. The action took only a few minutes total. The window was shattered into a cobweb pattern.

This action also was done in solidarity with others in the Bay who have attacked the property of companies and banks invested in the Atlanta police training facility mega project. For example, the recent string of ATM smashing last week were inspiring to learn about.

Hella companies are invested in the destruction of Weelaunee forest and building Cop City ((Home Depot, Chik’Fil’A, UPS, Bank of America)). They have buildings, warehouses, storefronts all over the Bay Area. These are physical sites that can be easily vandalized, smashed up, or made inoperable in other ways. With a few more people and a lookout, the entire UPS store front this morning could have been smashed out within five minutes.

Golf Course Sabotaged – New Orleans

In the wee hours of July 2, with the near-full moon shining, we sabotaged the Bayou Oaks golf course in City Park, New Orleans. We filled holes with concrete, dug into the greens, destroyed golf course property, and left messages of rebellion. We intend this action as direct solidarity with forest defenders in Weelaunee. All power to the forest defenders! Stop Cop City! Stop Cop City everywhere!

The redevelopment of the Bayou Oaks golf course in the aftermath of Katrina was unpopular for many reasons, chief among them the callous destruction of fallow park area, a last vestige for native animals already squeezed by aggressive citywide development. A decade of rewilding since the storm offered a glimpse of a world that has continued to exist in spite of 300 years of apocalypse. We honor the forest defenders who mobilized back in 2015. Although the struggle to defend this wild area inevitably was defeated, we have not forgotten. Like the owls, coyotes and alligators, the cypress, palmettos and oaks, we are part of that world, we are nature defending itself.

Golf courses are abominations against nature, and symbolize our current predicament well: frat bros guzzle cold beers on manufactured turf while our unhoused neighbors stroke out under bridges from ever-intensifying heat waves. To anyone considering similar actions, we will say this: a simple jumped fence was all that stood in our way, and the whole course was ours for the taking. Check your local targets for cameras and find good in/out routes, and that’s it! It was cathartic to be out among the possums and cats, the birds, and the impenetrable swamp waters. We fight for a world that embraces the wild. Fuck the police! Smash fortress USA! From NOLA to ATL, Stop Cop City!

Fun with friends – House Visits! Vehicles vandalized!

On a recent night, 2 groups of friends were feeling a little bored and decided to go on a fun little excursion. One group visited to home of LS3P senior architect Anthony Kenny in Norcross GA [address hyperlinked]. Another group visited the home of Ambrish Baisiwala, who is on the APF board of trustees and works for Portman Holdings, in Atlanta [address hyperlinked]. Messages were left in paint, tires were slashed. It was a joyful occassion all around. Thank you to the kind people who provided the names and addresses that facilitated this night of fun, particularly the free & rowdy Party. Bank Of America Buildings and ATMs across California attacked

On Friday night (6/30) into Saturday morning (7/1) a total of four Bank of Amerikkka buildings in the Bay Area were vandalized, and a total of five BofA ATMs were smashed in solidarity with the Stop Cop City campaign and struggle to Defend the Atlanta Forrest.

Two BofA buildings in Oakland were tagged with the message “Stop Cop City / ACAB”

Two ATMs on 50 California in San Francisco were sprayed with graffiti that said “Stop Cop City” and the screens were hit with hammers and shattered.

Three ATMs in front of the Bank of Amerikkka in Concord on Sun Valley Blvd. were also smashed with hammers and sprayed with a message in solidarity with the fight against policing and Cop City in Atlanta.

From the Sinkhole to the Forest

On Juneteenth, friends of the forest in so-called Minneapolis hopped the fence around the construction site of THE SINKHOLE, a major happening in local geology, to show their solidarity with the Defend the Atlanta Forest movement and with the unhoused community in their own city. APD raided The Teardown House and arrested three organizers with The Atlanta Solidarity Fund

Atlanta, GA– This morning, the Atlanta Police Department raided the home of three organizers with the Atlanta Solidarity Fund (ASF), a nonprofit organization and bail fund founded in 2016 that offers legal support to those facing state repression for protest-related activity. ASF has been an outspoken critic of state repression of social movements, use of chemical weapons on protesters, and increasing police militarization. [The three] were arrested and have been charged with money laundering and charity fraud. The three are the first known people associated with a bail fund to be criminally charged.

“This is an extreme provocation by Atlanta Police Department and the State of Georgia. Bailing out protestors who exercise their constitutionally protected rights is simply not a crime. In fact, it is a historically grounded tradition in the very same social and political movements that the city of Atlanta prides itself on. Someone had to bail out civil rights activists in the 60’s–I think we can all agree that community support isn’t a crime,” said attorney Lauren Regan, Executive Director of the Civil Liberties Defense Center.

The ASF provides support for those facing repression, while police have continually escalated their attacks on protesters over the past year. To date, 42 people have been charged with domestic terrorism and a protester, Tortuguita, was murdered by Georgia State Patrol. Since this murder, nearly 30 additional people have been charged with domestic terrorism for their alleged participation in protests, and some for simply attending a music festival organized in support of the movement. At this time, three people remain in jail, refused bond multiple time. Today’s arrests are the latest escalation in the state’s attacks on the right to protest.

Participants in the movement remain committed and unafraid: “This is targeting of organizers and movements by the police and the state. Bail funds have been a part of organizing the Civil Rights movement and labor movement. We will continue to fight back against Cop City and the political arrest of our friends and comrades,” said Kamau Franklin of Community Movement Builders.

The Atlanta Solidarity Fund was founded to provide support to anyone arrested while engaging in protest. Bail funds and other forms of mutual aid gained a national spotlight during the George Floyd Uprising in 2020, but are a long held tradition within politically active communities. This morning, Attorney General Chris Carr stated that he would not rest until every person who has funded or organized with this movement is held accountable. This is a direct attack on the tens of thousands of people who have contributed small dollar amounts to support the exercising of 1st Amendment rights.

This latest attack is a desperate move by the state to quash a rapidly expanding social movement. Community members are demanding these charges be dropped immediately, and are planning a rally at the DeKalb County Jail today at 6:30pm.

Meet the insurance providers behind Cop City

As has been noted previously, the APF cannot build Cop City alone–they rely on a hired support network of architects, engineers, contractors, and others to build it for them. One of the most critical pillars of this support structure is insurance. Without a valid insurance policy covering APF’s liability in the event of injury to workers or damage to property, construction cannot occur.

A Certificate of Insurance dated February 24, 2023 shows two companies providing insurance to the APF: the first is Scottsdale Insurance Co., a subsidiary of the well-known Fortune 500 company Nationwide; the second is Accident Fund General Insurance Company, a much smaller agency based in Lansing, Michigan. The broker for the policy is Amanda Surface from Correll Insurance Group, a small insurance company based out of South Carolina.

Scottsdale/Nationwide is responsible for the comprehensive Commercial General Liability and Umbrella Liability, while Accident Fund is responsible for the Workers’ Compensation and Employers’ Liability part of the policy. If either of these companies chose to boycott the APF for their human and environmental rights abuses, construction would come to a standstill until another insurer was found for this highly risky, highly unpopular project.

In the situation in the process our enemies have brutalized us, charged people with domestic terrorism, leveraging 5-35 years in prison against them, murdered our friend and comrade Tortuguita, attempted to repress our struggle, and yet we are still here fighting.
As the forests we swore to protect get clear-cut, and people face hefty sentences leveraged by the courts, as we stare at the possibility of raids, repression, investigations, and the unknown, we desire to take the plunge. We will make our enemies pay for every inch. We will not let them know a moment of peace.

In solidarity with the fight to Defend the Atlanta Forest and in memory of Tortuguita, a mural was painted this week in Zapatista controlled territory in the mountains of Chiapas. This mural joins the tradition of other paintings at Caracol Oventik, which memorialize those fighting for the liberation of land and people everywhere.

And that they must take actions to convince Nationwide to stop insuring Cop City and that the insurers must stop sending business to Nationwide.

We embrace a diversity of tactics, today using educational flyers and artwork pasted on their front doors and a brick was gifted to eaxh office to let them know that they have been given a chance todo the right thing. Many thanks to Nationwide for publishing the names and addresses of all associated brokers around this country.

It has been 13 years since our comrade Mauricio Morales, the punky, left his earthly life in the midst of the offensive that with courage and will he raised against the tortured bastards of the gendarmerie school. Unfortunately, the explosive device he was carrying started earlier than expected, generating the consequences already known by many. We embrace punky and his actions from the depths of our irreducible spirit, meeting him on different fronts: against prisons, capital, speciesism and civilization.

It is in this last front, responding to the call to raise the memory of punky in this Black May, is that we have decided to attack a telecommunications antenna of the Entel company, located on a hill in the commune of Puente Alto, in the capital of the territory dominated by the Chilean state. We are and will always be against the advance of technology and the digitalization of our lives. The existence of these means the exploitation and devastation of the ñuke mapu, the extraction of its minerals through the genocide of wild species in pursuit of the filthy commodities needed by the warriors to reproduce their cursed existence. Antennas like this one erode their natural environment, both at the time of their installation, as well as in the recurrent maintenance they require. Moreover, the effects on the different beings produced by a world overloaded with electromagnetic waves through these antennas and new technologies such as the 5G network are doubtful. We are not scientists nor do we pretend to prove that they do harm, but the invitation of our instinct to destroy them is enough for us.

We know the winkul, we are not alien and we will never be alien to the wild and free life that lives there. We identify with the insects, the earth, the plants, the animals, the birds. We set out to fly like them and direct our sights to the target. We attack without hesitation, claiming with dignity the destruction and sabotage against the power, its authorities and the gear of domination that spreads thanks to the murderous civilizing progress. We studied the place, we understand the risks of actions in nature, so we made sure that the necessary firewalls were in place so as not to affect wildlife. And so it was, in an act of consistency and thanks to a timed incendiary device, all the electrical connections of the antenna were destroyed by the restless fire of our free piukes. The company is still unable to resume operations in the sector, which fills us with joy.

Our proposal is the proliferation of all actions for total liberation, defending and conserving the Earth, rivers, lakes, seas, hills, forests and all beings that live in balance, through autonomy and weichan. We do not allow ourselves to be deceived by these legalistic-reformist-democratic times, lukewarm without spirit, waiting for the moral sense of the exploiters of the Earth. We call on the sisters and brothers of the pikun mapu to take a stand and to let their imagination fly to defend the foothills and the island hills of this part of the territory that still resist the onslaught of the prison-civilizing-capitalist society. All action is possible with study, organization, daring, courage, will and self-care. May our patience not be passive, but the correct planning of the offensive.

We make an accomplice salute to all the active cells and street actions that have raised the memory these months, strong and proud we feel dialoguing in action.

We also echo the call for the release of Marcelo Villarroel, we also act in solidarity and against the convictions of the nefarious military justice.
